Citizens Advice Northumberland is the operating name of Northumbrian Citizens Advice Bureau, a registered charity and company limited by guarantee which provides quality marked information, advice and casework services on a wide range of subjects including welfare benefits, debt, employment and housing. We operate from multiple locations across Northumberland, and through a range of channels, including face-to-face, telephone and digital channels
NCAB have a holistic approach to clients customer journeys.
We offer generalist advice and guidance to all residents of Northumberland and through that gateway are essential intermediaries for other services and pathways that clients require such as employability support, advocacy or skills training.
We exist for the clients and through our employed staff and volunteer network can deliver all aspects of that customers journey from poverty, debt, unemployment to work, fiscal responsibility and further education.
The services we deliver are available to everyone but they are particularly focussed on those in greatest need. Compared to the general population, the people we help are more likely to:
• live on a low income;
• be unemployed;
• be disabled or have a long-term health problem;
• lack basic digital skills;
• have limited or no access to the internet.
We are a trusted, full county based organisation which is the first port of call for thousands of people every year.
We work in partnership with all the voluntary sector organisations, and networks, have excellent established networks with the County and Town Councils, as well as JobCentreplus, Housing Associations, Health Professionals and are an embedded local provider with full county reach
Due to our history and experience across multiple contracts we have a holistic view of the labour market, infrastructure, transport and the education, learning and employment opportunities and support services available
